Shadow Child // 23 EP

28 Nov

The South Coast of the UK has bred another 2 successful names in underground music who have joined forces to create a home for a new wave of house, bass and forward thinking creations.. Food.

The label launches with Shadow Child’s own 23 EP, 4 slices of peaktime house led by the infectious title track ‘23’, a collaboration with Tymer. Solo tracks ‘Sensible Haircut’ and ‘The Verdict pt2’ take things deeper with a more edgy sound and a rather smashing remix from label partners Kry Wolf to boot. (Shadow Child SC, 2012)

Below our my picks, tune in to full ep here. Out on Food Music Dec 12, 2012!

Kill Frenzy // Go To The Mo

1 Sep

Kill Frenzy debuted on dirtybird with the label anthem of last year “Make that Booty Clap featuring DJ Funk”. To have a track that gets played by everyone all the way from Soul Clap to Skrillex shows Kill Frenzy’s ability to bridge the gap between genres, cliques and crews around the world. This new EP pushes even further into that original sound. To be able to combine footwork, breaks, techno & dubstep and make it all playable in house DJ sets is a big achievement and Kill Frenzy seems to have claimed this new genre all for himself. We have to give credit to co-producer of “Go To The Mo” dirtybird’s long time friend Sacha Robotti working with KF on the A side, but there is no denying this new talent from Belgium and we are really excited to have Kill Frenzy be a part of dirtybird. It also makes me happy that after 8 years some of that San Francisco dirt is breaking through to places like Belgium other countries in Europe outside of the UK. (dirtybird SC, 2012) – Out Sept 12, 2012
